Creating Dynamic Advertisements in your Email Campaign

  1. Log into the Station.
  2. Click on the Email Tab.
  3. Select an existing Email Campaign or create a new one.
  4. Advance to the “What” Step at the top of the screen. (Step 2)
  5. From the left side navigation bar, click and drag Advertisement onto the template space.
  6. In the Dynamic Ad section, paste in the HTML from your ad provider.
  7. Be sure to indicate the following attributes in your HTML:
Attribute Value
Placement ID (p=) This needs to be unique for each email sent out. A simple way to accomplish this is to use a timestamp.  To do this with a swig filter, use {{now|date(‘U’) * 1000}}.
Email Address (e=) The email address for each recipient. This can be expressed through the swig template tag {{}}.
List Identifier (li=) This does not need to be dynamic, but if you are sending multiple notifications, it should be unique for each notification.

Here is an example of the HTML you’ll need to drop into the Dynamic Ad section. Simply copy & paste this block of code and replace the highlighted sections.

<table cellpadding=“0” border=“0” width=“0” height=“6”><tbody><tr><td><img src=‘{{}}&p={{now|date(‘U’) * 1000}}” width=“2” height=“6” border=“0” /><td></tr></tbody></table>
