Welcome to Boomtrain Marketing Engine, one of the most powerful tools for personalizing, automating, and simplifying your marketing campaigns. This guide was created to provide you a high level overview of the tools available in BME. If you’re interested in learning more, feel free to navigate to other articles in the sidebar menu.
When you first log in to BME, you’ll be brought to the Dashboard. This is where you can see a brief rundown of your current campaign engagement and overall health. Find out if your emails are making it to users, and even see how your most active user segments are doing. If you’re interested in seeing more information about campaigns, users, or reporting, you can view those pages and gain access to more specific filtering tools.
This is where you’ll be spending most of your time on BME. Whether it’s to design your email template, schedule a campaign, test your dynamic content, or craft a triggered email, all of it takes place in the Campaigns tab. The best part is that it takes very little effort to build a fully functioning email and start testing. You’ll want to take advantage of our support team and documentation, but don’t be afraid to explore and experiment!
At first glance, the Activities tab can look a bit daunting. Don’t be afraid of User Activities and Behaviors! This is the most exciting part of BME because you can see activities in real time of what your users are up to. The most common event a user can perform is ‘viewed’, but there are also special activities related to purchasing products, sharing articles, signing up for membership, and virtually any other activity that you want to track. On top of that, you can string multiple activities together to create Behaviors. Behaviors and Activities power the Triggered Campaigns mentioned above. When a user performs a certain activity (like completing a purchase), your triggered email can send an automated response thanking them for their purchase.
How did my campaign do? How has the performance been over the last 90 days? How many new users have I gained? How many have I lost? These are just a few of the questions that can be answered in the Reports tab. You can specify a date range to see if last week’s content is performing better than this week’s, or even see the results of your A/B campaign testing. This tab works in tandem with the Insights tab. Both provide campaign data, but each has its own unique uses. Check out Reports if you want to get an ‘overall’ look at your campaigns.
Boomtrain’s powerful machine learning engine is what sets us apart from other email marketing services. No other tool allows you to completely automate your marketing campaigns and take advantage of 1:1 personalization. The Content tab shows you what resources are available to recommend to your readers. You can see what content is most popular/trending right now, and even click on a resource to navigate to its page on your site.
As mentioned above, Insights works with the Reports tab to completely flesh out your analytics needs. While Reports show you how a campaign did as a whole, Insights lets you drill down to a much more granular level, seeing clicks on individual links, getting more information on your content’s popularity, and most importantly, more detailed information about your users. The more you know about them, the better you can cater to their interests and needs, and the more users you can acquire!
On the surface, the Settings tab doesn’t look that interesting. Update your personal profile, sure. Add or remove members from your team, okay. BUT! You can also add custom scripts to your profile that can then be called inside your email campaigns! You can also view your API keys, or add additional sending addresses for your campaigns.
